Before the menstrual Cycle:
Hormonal changes (fluctuations in estrogen and progesterone levels) alter the chemical balance in the brain and causes serotonin deficiency. This leads to irritability, insomnia, depression, abdominal cramps, Constipation, bloating, nausea, backache, acne, headache, food cravings, hot flashes, etc. Hijama helps manage Premenstrual Syndrome and Perimenstrual Dysphoric Disorder. Hijama promotes the release of endorphins, serotonin, dopamine, enkephalins, endogenous opioids, and opiorphin. This leads to better mood and pain reduction. Period blood results basically from the womb lining leaving the body along with cervical mucus and vaginal secretions. Hijama pulls blood from capillaries and specific tissues surrounding organs at certain points. Hijama blood has a different composition that is rich in cholesterol, uric acid prostaglandins, heavy metals, aged red blood cells, cancer cells…etc.
Myth: Do not get Hijama done while you are menstruating.
In some cases when a female is having changes in her period and imbalanced hormones, We prefer to do Hijama specifically during her the first few days of her menstrual cycle to achieve higher efficacy.
Why do women need Hijama after menopause?
The average age for menopause is 51. The production of estrogen and progesterone drops down. High blood pressure, anxiety, depression, and weight gain are the most concerning changes after menopause. This is because Estrogen is a vasodilator that relaxes blood vessels. It increases HDL, reduces LDL, and prevents blood formation. That could help explain why hypertension occurs after menopause. Effect on Period:
After Hijama, in a few cases, some women may experience a disruption in their menstrual cycle. The Menstrual cycle could be a week or two late or early. This is normal, your cycle will revert to normal. In some cases, Hijama is higher in efficacy during your period rather than before or after.
Birth Control Contraceptives:
Birth control pills can have a dangerous effect on women’s health because they increase the chance of developing blood clots by 3 to 4 times. The new patches (trans-dermal contraceptives) may increase this risk even more. Both types of contraceptives can increase blood viscosity and drop the rate of blood flow which leads to red cell aggregation and clotting. Hijama can help alleviate the above effects by thinning the blood and regulating blood composition.
Pregnancy:
Hijama is not recommended during the first and third trimester of pregnancy as it could cause miscarriage or premature birth. There are certain risky points, but if avoided, Hijama would be safe and beneficial during pregnancy as it helps manage Gestational Diabetes, Pre-Eclampsia, and Eclampsia.
After delivery (Post Natal Bleeding):
Whether the delivery was cesarean or vaginal, Hijama should not be performed in the first 40 days after delivery. At that time, the body is working on getting rid of the lining of the uterus. We have to wait for the uterus to heal and go back to its pre-pregnancy size. If the mother took an epidural injection during labor, Hijama can help reduce the Neurological Symptoms of epidural, like weakness or paralysis, or loss of sensation. Hijama is very effective in reducing pain intensity in women who suffer from Postpartum lower back pain. Along with Vitamin D and Zinc Supplements, Hijama helps address Postpartum Depression / Psychosis including mood swings and crying spells.
During Breastfeeding:
Dry Hijama is great during breastfeeding to help prevent conditions like mastitis and clogged milk duck. Breast pumps also can be helpful in this case. Remember that Breast pumps originated from Hijama cupping. Use a breast pump at home, after consulting with your doctor and Lactation Specialist.
Hijama can help correct Vaginal / Uterine Prolapse. The session will have to be repeated every six to 12 months on specific points (must include certain points on the head.) The prolapse may not completely resolve but it will be significantly tolerable. Exercise is very important along with Hijama. Heavy lifting must be avoided.
